Judi Clements Training & Development in Clifton Park has added First National Bank of Scotia as a new client for its half-year Leadership Institute of monthly sessions on leadership and supervision. The company also will offer specialized leadership and supervisory training for three long-term clients: Leadership Columbia County, a program of Columbia County Cooperative Extension; member agencies of New York State Industries for the Disabled in Albany; and the Firemen's Museum in Hudson.

IT'S AN HONOR

Adirondack Plastics & Recycling Inc. in Argyle, which offers reprocessing of post-industrial plastic and paper scrap, was cited for its contributions to the region at the eighth annual Small Business Excellence Awards luncheon sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Glens Falls National Bank & Trust Co. nominated the company. It was one of 34 area small businesses honored.

The Alliance of Technology and Women's Tech Valley Chapter honored these area women at its 'Rising to Lead' awards reception at The Century House in Latham: Beth Coco of MicroKnowledge - Best Technology Executive; Tobi Saulnier of First Playable Productions - Best Emerging Executive; and Fatemah Shahedipour-Sandvik of the University at Albany College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering - Best Technologist. In addition, there was a tie between Xonitek and Informz as Best ATW Company Supporter.

Gilda's Club Capital Region New York , the Latham group offering support for those diagnosed with cancer, accepted a service award from the Psychological Association of Northeastern New York for its work in improving the psychological health of a given population.

Bonnie Trevett of Hudson Falls, a registered nurse at Glens Falls Hospital, received the hospital's Annual Award of Excellence. Part of Behavioral Health Services for 16 years, Trevett was cited for sensitivity to patient needs, good communication skills and willingness to teach others.

ON THE BOARD

The Girl Scouts, Hudson Valley Council elected these officers: Joan Rogers of Troy, Workers Compensation Board - president; Nancy Jones of Cropseyville, state Department of Transportation - third vice president; Wendy Prout of Troy, Averill Park School District - secretary; and Patricia Maguire of Albany, Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce - assistant treasurer.

Elected members-at-large were: Maxine Fantroy-Ford of Albany, Giffen Elementary School; Karen Ferrer-Muniz of Colonie, RPI; Katherine Jetter of Clifton Park, WMHT; Elissa Kane of Albany, Albany Public Library; Robert McNamara of Albany, Capital Education Network; Carole Montepare of Albany, CDPHP; Pamela Murray of Slingerlands, American College of Testing; Cynthia Pettit of Colonie, Citizens Bank NA; Rachel Ryan of Colonie, Hiscock & Barclay; and Debra Story of Troy, Hudson Valley Community College.
